Roberto Saint-Malo has over 17 years of experience in leadership roles in direct equity investment and company-building efforts. The 19 investments he has sourced, structured, managed and exited during this time period, have returned capital many times over. One was Eyesquad, an earlier opto-electronics venture developed by the Corephotonics team which was acquired by Tessera in 2007. He recently formed BetaAngels SA to invest in compelling early-stage ventures, via a particularly investor and entrepreneur-friendly model. Corephotonics is BetaAngels\’ first investment. Prior, Roberto founded Spain VC firm Adara in 2002, where he remains a General Partner and served as Managing Partner until 2010. Earlier he worked at McKinsey & Co. and in retailing, as CEO of a 35-store supermarket operation in central Spain. A YPO/WPO member since 1992, Roberto received an MBA degree from Harvard University and a BA in Computer Sciences from Dartmouth College (Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors). He is a citizen of Panama and Spain, a proud father of 3, and does his best to maintain his golf handicap in the single-digit range.
